Report - Section 4.2

4.2   Activity holidays

The UK Tourist series of surveys (UKTS) suggests that 84% of UK holidays involve participation in an activity. In this context, activities are broadly defined eg to include visits to the theatre or a museum.

A Leisure Intelligence Report by Mintel, April 2000, on Sporting Activities in the Great Outdoors, (defined as sporting activities related to walking and climbing) identifies an overall trend of steady growth in these markets.
